Preparing for Conferences

Updated: Oct 22, 2022

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are almost here! Taking some time to prepare ahead of time can help you to get the most out of your conference with your child's guide. Conferences are a great time to ask questions, clarify anything you might be unsure about, or discuss progress on any concerns. Here are three tips for getting the most out of your upcoming conference.

1. Be sure to fill out your pre-conference form. This helps the guides to better prepare for any topics or questions you would like to discuss.

2. Reflect on any questions or concerns you may have. Jot them down to bring with you if you think you might forget. It can also be helpful to have a notebook or pen and paper to jot down anything you’d like to remember from the conference itself.

3. For parents of children ages 5 and up, read over your child's conference report when you receive it. Shortly before your conference, you will receive a copy of your child’s conference report if they are 5 or older. This will give you a good overview of your child's progress and may help you to come up with questions you want to ask or information you'd like to share with your child's guide.

Edited on 10/22/2022 to add that conference reports will be made available for children ages 5 and up.
