Trips & Outings
For students in our Elementary and Adolescent programs their classroom is the seed and the world is their classroom. Students are routinely encouraged to go beyond the initial lessons and dive deeper into topics. This leads them to venture outside the classroom.
Small Group Going Outs
As early as 1st grade students are encouraged to consider the world as their learning ground and are trained to create small group going outs in order to learn about topics that interest them. Students initiate and plan the trip and gain huge amount of confidence from successfully navigating the agenda. As they grow older, the trips grow more sophisticated and continue all the way through Junior High. They may buy groceries for a project at the grocery store, bike to the library to borrow books, visit the zoo to research the panda habitat, observe how a printing press works, tour a chocolate factory or interview experts. The list of things that they does vast and unlimited!

Large group Field trips
As students grow older and mature, Large Group Field Trips become more common and you will see the Junior High students engaging in this a lot. Their field trips may be to The Library of Congress or Ice skating for a social and physical activity or to the local theatre to watch a new production.

Large group Overnight trips
In the Junior High program, students engage in multiple overnight trips for camping, multi school presentations, or educational city trips.
